First let me say the pictures on this forum of some lame hose over the trans cooling line is not what they replaced. The box was 3 feet long they replace the whole line. Told me it would take an hour to do it took them almost 2 hours. Mine was the first one dealer has done he said line was worn almost threw.
Got my notice on Recently called the dealership and asked if they had the parts and they told me they are on order, they also brought up a air bag recall that wasn't on the letter from Chrysler so something else might need fixing 😵
Dealers are only getting one set of recall parts per week. I have at least 4 more weeks before I get the repair. I have couple of off road trips planned is there temporary fix which I can do.
I agree that is a good temporary fix, which answers theotis' question. However, the recall includes a redesigned line to avoid rubbing; as opposed to just insulation.
Mine wasn't rub at all and I don't know if they replaced the new line or just put on the rubber hose on one line and the sleeve on the other line because it only took them one hour to do it.
I have a second notice on my 2012, after having the head work done earlier this year, now this...I contacted the dealer who told me they are only being shipped 1 part every week , so I am 20th on the waiting list, I said that was a joke having to wait almost 6 months, unless parts start coming in quicker. ... a bigger joke than the Mayor of my home town.Toronto. well maybe not that big. lol
I went in after the second notice, about 2 months ago and they didn't have anything but ordered the parts for me. About 3 weeks ago I stopped in to check on it and 1 out of the 3 parts has arrived. Might swing by again after work today and see if anymore have come in.
I was at the dealer yesterday on something else and while talking to the service manager about the transmission recall he told me on routine inspections of some 2013 wrangler they have found the same problem with the 2 lines rubbing I said some of them it looks like some of the older parts made there way on to 2013 wranglers .
:dance:hi, went in for oil change, and my dealer made the N28 recall, about
2 hours, all @ 100%. Life is great when you have a good Jeep dealer.:appl::thumb:

Question, why did the dealer tell me to bring my JK in with less than a 1/2 tank of gas?? I questioned her, she said they had to drop/remove the gas tank?? Why would the gas tank have anything to do with the N28 hose -line issue???
Got our recall notice back in August but was on a trip so I figured since I already put the rubber hose on the line back in June it could wait. Got a few more notices from Chrysler so today called the dealer to get the oil changed and the recall done...was told they don't have any of the parts, on back order....typical...but they do a $20 oil change....at that price its not worth me doing it..
My daughter's 2012 did not have the problem but I sleeved it just in case. When the second notice came in, I dropped it off on Black Friday, picked it up and a day or so later noticed red fluid drops (P/S?) in the driveway, coming from driver's side around the cross member.
Took it back it again 2 days ago and they had to redo the job. Was told that it was a bad fitting and this was the second one that happened according to the service writer.
Ironic isn't it, did the recall to prevent a potential leak, and ended up leaking after first attempt.
Waiting since November last year...Finally got a call last week, took it in Tuesday....Invoice states "replace power steering return tube> Inspect transmission oil cooler tube. Install protective sleeve and bleed power steering hydraulic system 19N28182"... I have some light brown/yellowish oil underneath on some of the steel cross members, drivers side, and had a very small drip on the driver's side..Wiped down what I could, but still see some fluid/oil after driving which I wiped away today on the steel members...I also had an oil change done same time. Could this be some residual oil blowing back underneath from the recall job? I really don't see anything dripping from the fittings/lines I think they replaced... Anyone know what they are actually doing and what the procedure is? Could some fluids have drained when they removed the lines? Never had a leak or problem before, got 12000 miles on my 2012 JKU...Hadn't had any oil drips since getting rid of my Harley a couple years back, and I don't want any issues with this stupid recall......
