First let me say the pictures on this forum of some lame hose over the trans cooling line is not what they replaced. The box was 3 feet long they replace the whole line. Told me it would take an hour to do it took them almost 2 hours. Mine was the first one dealer has done he said line was worn almost threw.

I had mine done a two days ago along with my water pump. I have not checked yet to see what they replaced. I will do that this weekend.

I had my transmission recall done this week, along with the water pump as well. :)

It isn't a recall...but if you hear chirping, it is most likely your water pump bearings.

Our '12 may have been one of the first ones for that....we had that done last year but still got recall notice......I found a couple drops of tranny fluid in garage May of '12...dealer is about 2 miles away...they gave us a loaner till parts came in....a new Town and Country. Been fine every since....but about due for an oil change so they can check it than.

Your dealer can order the part now. I was told if you wait until all the dealers have the parts your wait could be days. If the line rubs threw your not going anywhere.

Had 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport in for regular service and while there asked if they had parts to do the recall, they did. Quote from work order, "N28 recall. Replace power steering return tube, inspect transmission oil cooler tube, install protective sleeve and bleed power steering hydraulic system."

Two days later back to replace driver side head. All covered by warranty. Will get it back Tuesday. Miss that Jeep.:beerme:

My line is almost worn through so I put heater hose around it. That's good enough for me, but hearing that they replaced a PS line is strange. I wonder what the story is behind that. I might have to just take it in.

Well about an hour after dropping it off for the scheduled repair I received a call from the tech. He told me that I definitely needed the repair but the parts were at least a week out. So now I need to take it back when the parts arrive. Hopefully it holds out till then!

I had the N28 recall done today.
Took 1.4 hours, according to the warranty labor allowance.
I didn't wait for the 2nd letter.
I called the dealer and had the parts pre-ordered. Dealer had the parts in a couple of days.

Had my 2012 Sahara in for N28 recall. Was advised that the trany cooler line was wearing through, and I requested to see this for myself. The line in question MAY
have been rubbing an electrical cable going to the signal lights, but no evidence of wear existed. Prior to my inspection I was advised that the trany cooler line and power steering return line would both have to be replaced - taking about four hours. I declined the service and made the five dollar preventive "repair" at home in about five minutes. Vehicle was driven 16,000 miles prior to this inspection with zero wear on any of the lines. Not ALL Wranglers recalled suffer the N28 problem.
If it ain't broke - don't fix it.
