Half Doors and Spiderweb Shade installed - Pics

Just got the spiderweb TrailMesh today and it's installed. The front two corners were hard to install and the back to corners were a b1tch Took me a good 45 minutes as I nearly gave up on the rear corners and one final ditch attempt and I barely managed to get it.

I have to tell ya. Nothing like driving with half doors and open top . Tomorrow will be the first day with the spiderweb shade. I got to admit, it got pretty hot today and I felt the sun beat down on me. I think, the spiderweb should help.

Here are some pics.

I dig the half doors! I have never seen one on the lot with them, I'm guessing its more of an "ordered" option.

The weather out here in Southern California is becoming blistering hot, so the hard top stays on with the A/C running for me. Driving on the freeway with no top is like holding a blow dryer on high 6" in front of your face....

It must be a hot weather in Utah thing because I installed my Spidershade this weekend as well. I like the looks of the half doors Sunny. The shade drops the temperature 5-10 degrees so it does help. I will keep an eye out for your jeep since I drive all over SLC.

I bought a trailmesh Spider Shade last week and haven't had time to install it, but am a little at a loss as to how to do so. It didn't come with any instructions. I watched a video of a girl putting one on a Jeep, but I can't really see how she is connecting the bungee cords and I don't know if the cords are supposed to go in specific places or just wherever I think is best. Also, the shade seems to have some connectors on the shade itself ... is this the front that would be somehow folded back? I'm detail-oriented and don't like guestimating with stuff I buy.

I can't tell you how much I love my spiderweb shade! I went wheeling on Sun and it was like 90 out - that thing saved my life! It gets so hot in 4L to begin with, then sitting around in the sun waiting for everyone to get through the next obstacle would have surely meant death for me without it. LOL

You are gonna love it. I love the half doors too...looks awesome.

I've had my Spiderweb for 2 years and it does stretch over time, so those bungee balls on the rear corners will get easier if you decide later to take it off and put it back on.

Not that it has to be removed with the top on, but I still prefer open air during spring and fall weather, so mine goes on in the late spring, and then is removed in the fall. It's fantastic for summer sun though.

I just got my shade in mail and will pop it on tomorrow. How do you 4dr guys put the top back up over the shade? I know it fits under it, but I put my softtop up from the inside. Do you take the rear of the shade off to stand on the rear seat? What am I missing?

And, sadly, you usually gotta order them or buy them later. Never have seen them on the lot.

It does make it a little trickier. Rather than taking the rear of the shade off which takes more time, I've learned to put the top back on by standing on the rear bumper. You have to lift the top and then sort of push it toward the front. Not as easy as standing on the rear seat and lifting over your head, but with a little practice, I can do it without much problem and without falling over backwards.

I took it for a quick ride and it's pretty much silent. And definitely keeps the interior cooler and shaded. Thumbs up for this product.
