Hand carved willys WWII jeep

My son and I made this little jeep out of a single block of pine. I did all the cuts but my son did all of the measuring, assembly, and painting. Thought I would share it with my fellow jeepers and enthusiasts! ;-)

Nice job. Looks like the windshield folds down, too! Good attention to detail. Thanks for sharing.

You should carve a tiny tiny one and use it as a hood ornament =p

Yes it does! I cut a spring from a clothes pin to make the hinges (2 x "L" shaped). I inserted them into the sides of the jeep and then glued the windshield to the pins. I used the clothes pin as it was super strong.

I love Pinewood derby cars and your Jeep is just fantastic! Always good to see a kid learning to build something!

the only things we didn't make were the steering wheel (snatched it from a toy car), the windshield was cut from a spare piece of plexi glass I had laying around, and the plastic wheels.

I love it! I have thought about carving a Jeep in wood, but never really had a pattern. I think you just gave me some ideas!
