Are you saying that the shorter is hard to move around? If so they did something to get it in a bind.

I work on heavy equipment, and whenever we have an issue with a transmision not going into gear, it usualy ends up that the clutch is NOT completely disengaging when the pedal is steped on. (not adjusted corectly)
Meaning the input shaft is still spinning slightly and not allowing to go into gear properly, also if the pilot bearing is dinged up or in a bind will cause the same problem.
If they (the repair shop) have any experience with clutch installation, when they test drove it, they should of known it was not correct.
Just my 2 cents.
Good luck.

Thanks man. Is easy to move around but a bit harder to get into the first 3 gears. I'm gonna tell them I will leave the jeep with them to check it out. How important is this ?

I would take it back asap. It could be something they screwed up in your clutch or didn't lube the splines or damaged them or somethi ng around the shift lever is interfering.

I'm bringing it tmw first thing, man what a bad experience. It took them 4 days to look at the jeep, 5 more days for a diagnosis and almost another week for repair. They broke the ring vessel that holds the shifter boot in place, and tried to getto glue it and of course it came loose after I shifted the first time. I was still in their parking lot so I turned around and told them so they again gave me an excuse of how often they do it but said they will order me a new piece for Monday. I thought the hard shifting was due to all that glued together. Man I'm so pissed

I don't even think they test drove $hit, I could tell that they were just doing everything in a rush screwing the details in the process

UPDATE: I drove the jeep cold this morning for the first time and the shifter is a lot harder to shift. Even when you are slowing Down to a stop and downshift from 3rd to 2nd is REALLY hard to do.

I haven't driven it cold because it was warm the day I picked up and my wife drives it everyday so if I drive it in the eve is already warm. But even she noticed how tuff it was to shift

If I was pissed before today I'm apeshit man how can they deliver a car like that out of the shop.

just as i thougt: the dealership called and said they cant notice how the jeep is hard to shift. even when the jeep is warmed up is still harder than normal to shift so there goes another lie from them. i said to leave it over night and test again the morning "when is really hard" i told him if he still tells me in the morning that the jeep still shifts fine im picking it up and bring it to another shop, i would call my warranty company and tell them not to pay for the incomplete work, i was calling Chrysler and also the corporate office of their dealership (allstar jeep of denham springs louisiana)
