Went to a few dealerships today to drive a couple different JKUs and 90% sold on it, however I noticed pretty bad buffeting in both jeeps (windows up). That air pressure, low frequency boom that you would normally hear if you have one window down while driving. Both JKUs, both hard tops - one auto, one manual. Didn't see a lot of info online about this, but it seemed like people mentioned it was either fixed by, a) reseating/tightening bolts to seal the hard top better, b) add headliner to dampen some noise, or c) support the hard panel using foam blocks between sport cage and hard top panel.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this common? Do one (or more) of these "fixes" typically solve the problem?
Who knows on the test drive vehicle haha. You would assume from the factory they are, but who knows. From all of your posts, it doesn't seem like something I should worry about (unless I get the new one and it happens lol).
I hear that noise when the rear windows are open, partially or fully, and everything else is closed. All other times my JKU is relatively quiet. :whistling:
I had that when I test drove my 2016 JKUHR. When I returned it to the dealership the sales woman went and got the resident Jeep "expert". He claimed the diff locks had been on and drove it back and forth in the parking lot. After he left with his nonsense the sales woman and I reseated the freedom panels and it was gone.
