Hard Top Off

Ok I got the hard top off for the summer. I don't have a soft top of any kind. Which is the quickest and easiest to throw on. I park in the garage but would like something I could use and keep in the jeep. No door surrounds either.

Would like something to cover the front and back seats.

Are you talking about something to protect just your seats or the whole interior, like from rain?

That's what I am thinking. Should I get door surrounds and a top that covers the seating area.

I was in the same situation 2 weeks ago, but had to do something fast because a storm was coming and I was an hour from home. I ran to Wally World looking to buy a tarp, and stumbled upon car covers. I bought the biggest one I could find just hoping it would cover enough. Sure enough, it covers the whole freak'n Jeep, even protects enough with the doors off! I paid like $20 bucks and I keep in the Jeep at all times now. If someone steals it, not a big deal.

I would look into something simple like that. Though I have a 2-door, I would think finding one long enough to fit a 4-door would be easy.

Something waterproof... only the Soft Top is completely waterproof. Nothing else really is.

What Positrak suggests above is a useful item. It will allow you protection if a storm surprises you and can be driven while on... I've run mine at 60-65 mph. If you aren't planning to go doorless, it will keep everything dry. If you do remove doors, it will enclose the back seats, but leave the front exposed. It includes a couple of ponchos to wear or put over the seats in a pinch.

It is hardly a good option for extended use, but will allow you to "limp along" until you decide on a proper soft top. I have a hardtop only and run topless for about 5-6 months of the year. In the middle of summer, I'll usually have a bikini top on, but keep this emergency top under my back seat just in case.

I'll get around to buying a soft top eventually, but I'm not really in a hurry, especially with the gear I already have.

Well I have decided that I want a soft top for the jeep. I just like having the hard top off in the nice weather. Doors off will be next. But that will be on weekends when out and around and parking in the garage at night. Now which top to get.
