Hard top over Trek NX top

I'm currently have the Trek Top NX on my 2012 JKU and want to put the Hard Top on during the winter. Does anyone know if I can remove the top, but leave the brackets (used to attach the Trek NX top) attached to the rear roll bar and put the factory HT back on without any issues? Thanks for your help.

If it uses the same two brackets as the factory top, then yes, especially on a 4 door. I never took my Trektop NX out of the box.....so I can't say for sure if the brackets are the same.

2014 JKU and I was able to leave the roll bar brackets in place when reinstalling the hard top.

To be very clear, I am referring to the brackets that attach at the top of the roll bar and kinda stick out the side a bit.

Thanks Flatlander21. Did you loosen them or anything? Tight fit?

Panthermark, the brackets your referring to attach on the underside of the rear (slanted portion) roll bar.

I didn't have to loosen anything. It will not be as tight a fit as you think.

Yeah, I think those are the same brackets. They are fine to leave on if you have a four door. If you have a two door you can still leave them on, but they may be dangerous to your passengers.
