Hard Top Question

Just pulled the hard top off the new 09 Sahara Unlimited and have a question...when fastening down the soft top...the straps are supposed to go through the frame slots in the rears but there are brackets in there from the hard top Torx bolts. Do these come out or are they supposed to come out? They move around nicely for lining up the bolts but I didn't want to force them out of their tracks...thought I should post first to see...thanks all!

great to be a jeep owner again...

I pulled mine out and stored them for fear of bumping one of them out by accident and losing it over the summer. They are in there pretty good though. I'm a little anal about following directions and wanted to get that strap into the place were it showed it in the directions.

Thanks for the info...i actually did push the strap through the same spot but it took some time and a flat head screwdriver..I just wanted to be sure that pushing them out wouldn't break them. I was hoping someone did what you did before I tried it and busted the new jeep! Thanks for the info!
