Hard Top screw mounts

Greetings all,

I'm wondering if anyone else with a hard top has the same issue/design flaw that I think I may have.

The two large screws (for lack of a better word/description) that screw/secure the Hard Top to the center roll bar, do not seem to secure properly. In other words, when I screw down the large screws, all the way to the right (righty, tighty), my two screws appear to be stripped, b/c when I tighten the screws, the tightning never stops... The screws just continue to keep going?

Does anyone else have this issue? I'm paranoid b/c of the numerous posts discussing leaky soft and hard tops. Haven't had the Jeep out in the rain yet to test my hard top...

Tks all and B/R,

BB

doesnt sound right. when you tighten the screws down they will stop turning and if you watch the roof panels you can see them draw down. might what to have em checked out at the dealer.

Are they actually going into the threaded hole? If stripped looks like warranty time.

I've been pondering this one for a while. Is the jeep used? I'm thinking that if it is, the previous owner may have taken it off, lost the bolts and put the wrong ones back in. I think the bolts are 10-1.25X??mm torx head not sure of the length and are black on my top. I just put a radio rack up across my roll bar and wanted to make the fasteners the same as the ones holding the top down so I just recently measured them.

^^^ JK'N,

No Sir, it is a brand new '10 Sport. I looked at the panels and one panel is slightly darker than the other one. I know, it is strange. This leads me to believe either the factory messed up or the dealer put the wrong panels on my car.
Saga will continue...

Best,

BB
