Never tried it but some people just use a black magic marker. Never seen how that works out either though. I have several scratches on my top but it doesn’t really bother me. They just go to prove that along with the body surface scratches that my Jeep is indeed used as intended.

I've used the marker but turns like a purpleish color...I'm cool with that but for $10 just wanted to see if this matched better...I will order it and post review

Got to make sure it is a sharpie and not a knock off but saying that, I have heard people buy that touch up off E-bay and are pleased with it.

I have chiped paint and a sharpie does not fill in good and it wears off after a few months of washing. I need to get this paint.

I'm looking for a good touch up too just to protect the fiberglass. The problem with the sharpie is that it does not match and it does not seal against weather. It hides the white but that is about it.

Small chip repairs are easier with an applicator or brush. I prefer touch up specific micro brushes.

Must be a large scratch. Sharpie only works for those small f/u's.

Mopar sells the hard top touch up paint for 2010-2011:

68060405AA (Jet Black) Pen
68060406AA (Jet Black) Spray

68060403AA (Dk. Khaki) Pen
05134797AA (Dk. Khaki) Spray

Most dealerships that sell Wranglers have these on hand.

I just bought the 68060405AA (Jet Black) Pen from my dealer CAD11.00. It's a pen/brush combo. This is the result:

Notes:

1. Black hardtop ('11 Rubicon)
2. Pic with scratch taken outdoors in natural light (grey skies)
3. Pic painted taken indoors with flash
4. About 45 minutes after applying

Looks a little rough to me unless it cures into the top, otherwise I may have applied it too thick. Will see next day if terrible scrape it off and re-do.

Nevertheless that's what it looks like. Lot of dealers in my hood never heard of it and don't have the part # in their computer system. It is in their paper manual though, so hammer them if they say it doesn't exist.
