Hardtop on?

Based up near chicago, got the hard top so going to put it on at some point.

Looking at the calendar, there arent going to be many more days for roof off jeeping for me this year. Would like to get the softtop away nice and dry and got family staying to give me a hand.

Would like to keep the soft top on till thanksgiving but given how deep the snow was that time last year it might not be the best idea.

Possible the biggest first world problem ever.

I just put my hard top back on yesterday (western NY). I like driving with the doors off more than I do with the top down, so no biggie. Looks better with the hard top anyways. But I washed it, dried it and put the top away til next spring. Kids are back in school, summer's over...

I don't have a soft top; got soaked with my top and doors off last week. Put the hard top back on and it's rained every day since. Kinda depressing. I wish those freedom panels weren't such a pain in the butt to lug around.

I've always just yanked them off and threw them in the back.

I never put them screws back in either btw.

I have to keep my back seat in my 2-door (I'm playing chauffeur at the moment) , and I yanked the headrests 'cuz they suck visibility-wise. That leaves me tossing them in the back with them banging back and forth between the seat and rear window. I would love to find the rack that goes on the back of the tire.

I'm in the same area. Will be holding out through October before switching back to the hard top.

I hear yah. I haven't tried using the strap on the freedom bag around the back seats yet. Might help.

Looking to keep soft top on until around Thanksgiving. Right now top down and doors off. Mid to high 80's the next few days here in the Hudson Valley, NY.

Get you a couple of pieces of foam and put on each side of the freedom panels to keep them from banging around in the back.

I'm struggling with when to put my hardtop on as well. Before you know it, it will be in the 50's here.

Bent, Brag? Come on Fall and Winter! Give me the nice cool 50's in the a.m....I'd be happy with a high of 60! You can have the 80's and 90's! Can't deal with the heat anymore....We hit 90 something today in Allentown, not nice, time to move up North, "Buying Alaska" is what I've been watching on TV...After 36 years at my job, feel like I want to hibernate...

If be happy if I never saw another snowflake in my life.

I utterly, bitterly hate winter with a passion.

What are these snowflakes you speak of? Here we have hot or really hot, with an occasional freeze your @ss off week every once in a while.

Used to live about 5 miles away from the navy base in Libertyville.... Now I'm in Texas and only hear the cries of my family while I roll top and doors off until November...Good luck!

Stop talking about hard tops or ya gonna curse us with early winter.

Mine will go back on either end of Oct or sometime in Nov.

Long live the Premium Soft Top and no doors!

I will be tougher next year.......

Anyway, now that debate is out of my head I can get back to thinking about mods.
I'm thinking a CB next, plenty of threads to read on that one.

CB huh? Well, here is the rear antenna mount and overhead CB mount that I went with. Really great stuff. I grounded my rear mount to the frame and I have an SWR reading of <1 on all channels.

So true! I'm waiting for October to take my hard top off so I don't die of heat exhaustion while I make my 6 mile drive to work. Lol.
