Hardtop removal tools not included?!

Are the socket attachments to remove the hardtop screws not included with the vehicle? Can't find them anywhere? If not, what is the part and size?

Torx 40 is all you need. It is not included.

Does this post mean you've picked up your jeep?

The dealer gave me one, told me it was made by Snap On for Jeep, a tee handle with the correct size torx bit.Any hardware store has them, just use a short extension with a 3/8 ratchet handle.

When I picked mine up it was the middle of winter and I didn't have a garage. I asked my dealership to remove the soft top for me and they wanted to charge me for an hours labor...

I played the warranty card and they seemed confused. I explained that if they did not remove the soft top I would be forced to drive home with it like that and again they seemed confused, like it was a non-issue. I then pointed out that they sticker on the soft top said driving the vehicle with both tops installed may cause damage and something to the effect of void warranty.

I told them I'd take it but I'd be leaving the soft top like it was until the summer and if there was damage they could replace it then. At that point they relented.

Seemed like a battle for something petty but it's stupid for it to be shipped with it installed like that.

After you use that Torx bit to remove the bolts you can replace them with a hard top quick release kit. Then you will not need any tools to remove it in the future.

Imagine how much damage it would cause if it was shipped loose, just bouncing around inside of your jeep on the back of a transfer truck...

Yup....or even worse. Soft tops were "walking away" on vehicle lots.

You will also need a Torx 50 for the doors.
