Harken Hoist cable fraying

Went to take the ole hardtop of today and noticed some significant fraying on one of the lines one my Harken Hoist that I've had for a year.

Anyone know why this has happened? Did I screw something up with the install? I tried to email Harken Support, but their server rejected my email. I'll have to call them later when they open, but figured I'd pose the question here, too.

Looks like the line slipped off the pulley and got tore up as it was dragged between the pulley and the bracket. I would replace that line before you lift your top with it, as there is not much strength left in that rope.

Well, I did get a hold of Harken and since I know we all like good customer service here, I thought I'd share that Harken is going to replace the line at no charge.

So, thank you Harken!!!

Glad to hear that.

It's nice to hear about companies that make a good product and stand behind it.
