Harken Hoister from Quadratec-$128

Added the 2 extra straps for piece of mind. Works great, love it!

$18 cheaper, not really a 'heck of a lot'. Is it the same model as the one on Quadratec? Same capacity?
Quadratec Part No: 12020.1000

It's $140-152 on Amazon.com for 7803B, right now. I can't find it for $110. I am sure it may have been in the past, but it isn't now, that I can see anyway. $129 @ Q sounds a little better to me, also free shipping with their code...

The only one currently on Amazon for around $110 has a 60 lb capacity. I hope you didn't get that one for your expensive hard top.

Also, Quadratec has a price matching policy if it is the SAME model.

Yes. A hardtop isn't cheap to replace. I don't seem to find any bad reviews on the Harken... going to run this by my friend who will help me install it and I'll make a decision. I don't think the powered models are any better than the Harken... just more expensive for the convenience of pushing a button.

Bought mine from West Marine a year ago. Not sure how the price + shipping works out now but they don't tend to backorder as often as QuadraTec. Worth it to check them.
HARKEN Hoister Four-Point Lift System at West Marine

I bought the 200 lb version for my 2-door. Works well, feels safe - if anyone knows how to put together blocks and lines it would be Harken with all their sailing experience. It takes some weight to lower - I have to help it down -there's a fair amount of drag from the 8:1 set of blocks. The 145 lb version might work better for my top but I'm happy enough with my setup.

I also have the 200 lb version for my 4-door and have to help it down when lowering. Otherwise, works great.

I installed mine last weekend. I have a 4 door, and I got the 200lb Hoist for a 12ft ceiling. I also put the freedom panels in their bag and lay them on top of the hard top.

Here it is all the way to the floor

Here it is all the way up

And just for the fun of it, here's a pic of my jeep with the premium soft top installed.

There's 10 pages of instructions for the Harken Hoist installation... looks a little tedious. Anyone have trouble or is it relatively straightforward?

I installed my Harken by myself. It helps to read through the whole installation instructions before doing any of it. The second time through it makes more sense.

If you get stuck, just post any questions you may have and I'm sure someone will reply promptly.

I just ordered the Harken Hoist. So in about 2 weeks my friend and I will be trying to do it. I'll definitely ask for help if it's needed. Thanks.

If it helps, when the installation instructions talk about the "front" board and the "front" wall, those are the ones at the back of the Jeep. So, the front on the Harken hoist is the rear of the Jeep.
