after the fact? I have a 14JKU Sport and have been toying with the idea of adding leather seats. I've seen a couple of threads discussing Katskinz, but i'm curious if i would be better off simply ordering leather seats from my local dealer and swapping out my old seats.
I would always then have an extra set of seats and could swap them back in if necessary.
Does anyone know how much it costs to add factory leather seats? Can they also add seat warmers too?
I had a local Katzkin shop do it for my previous Dodge Megacab for $1400.00. If you take it to the dealer, they'll just send it out to a shop and take a finders fee. Go to the Katzkin website to find a local authorized dealer to cut out the middle man. And I'm sure they can install seat warmers.
I'm in Canada, katskin has the oem leather set for 750 canadian. (4dr). Just watch though, the oem is leather on the seating surface only, vinyl on everything else. They do have an all leather option for about 500 more.
Just picked up my JK this week and the Katzkins are the way to go in my opinion. Unfortunately the heaters will be tough in the newer models due to the vertical seam that is present on both the lean back and seat bottom. With the heater pad in place the seam on the leather cover cannot attach to the foam properly. I do distribute Katzkins and provide DIY Threads on several forums and hope to do the same here however, I have just joined this forum today and have to wait on Vendor info. Stay tuned
Didn't even attempt it with this model. The pads would typically sit in the insert area of the seat. In this case/year there is a vertical seam on both the lean back and the seat bottom that would have to go unattached in order to accommodate the heaters. As much as I would like them even in Arizona I did not want to compromise the look of the Katzkins.
