Cool Have an Unlimited X, want to upgrade wheels & Tires

I currently have the Unlimited X (aka. Big Red). My wonderful wifey got me 18x7.5 wheels for Christmas (stock was either 15" or 16")! I want to know if these will even fit. I was also planning on putting 31" wheels on. Will I need to lift it or do anything else to make all of this stuff fit?

New Jeep too? Congrats and welcome to the forum.

What kind of wheels are they? Many of the stock tires are 32". If you're willing to do other changes (flat flares, etc.), I believe you can get up to 35" without a lift. That's often referred to as a "low center of gravity" build.

Well, I haven't bought tires yet. I guess I'm in the market for as big as I can get without having to pour a ton of extra money in to lifting or changing suspension.

About tire sizes on stock wheels, read:

(1) Maximum tire size on 2010 JK 2DR
(2) Bigger Tires
(3) right size for the job
(4) BIggest wheel/tire size you can put on....

Generally, tires to fit the 18" Sahara wheels tend to be more expensive than those that fit the 17" Rubicon wheels. Still, plenty of folks with Saharas manage to survive somehow.

I put 275/70/18 Firestone Destination M/T tires on my stock 18 inch rims and they look great. I did have to put spacers on but they do not stick out at all. Awesome in the snow as they are narrower than most.
Check out the pics in my profile and you will get a better look.

Wow, they look great! Where did you get them, and about how much did they cost?

And did the spacers cost much as well?

I got them from tires-easy.com. 212 a piece and the spacers where around 110 for front and back. However I got the last 4 from them and I am awaiting one more from Firestone, that size is on backorder. I didnt want fat tires so I went with something a bit more road friendly but off road usable.
