Heated Seats

Hey guys. So Im currently on here doing my research. I am about 8 months away from making an order but I would like to get a a JKU rubicon. It would be used mostly as my DD, but I would deff like to take it off road when I can. I live in Northern Delaware and it can get cold here (may not be like that for much longer, thanks global warming). Basically my question is how "water proof" are the heated seats? Ive seen videos of people taking them off road and getting water/mud inside the cab. Ive also seen them just hosing down their seats afterwards. Im no gear head or electrician but it seems to be there might be some problems with getting water on heated seats. I could be wrong but thats why Im here. Cheers!

I would think that since you aren't submerging the Jeep in water, they would do fine, just like the rest of the electronics.

The 2012's should not go in water over 30" so that depth should not affect the heated seats. By the way the 2012 JKUR is awesome.

I love my '12 JKUR. The heated seats are great! I'd just put some waterproof covers over my seats if you're worried about getting them muddied up.

Hmm.

My guess would be that in the videos that you see of people hosing down their seats.....they don't have seat warmers...ijs.

Also do you commit a lot of crimes or something...I just ask because I am trying to figure out why a Daily Driver needs to have the seats hosed down...trying to get rid of some evidence???

The heated seats were probably the one thing that sold my wife on the Jeep.

That said, I don't think I would ever subject my Jeep to a water crossing of anything over the axle housings and even that I would try an alternate. I am also not a fan of mud.

My FIL gives me hard time because a real Jeep is one that you can wash on the outside and the inside with a garden hose. Well, I guess my Jeep isn't a real Jeep then.

Mike.

My wife jumps at every opportunity to ride along with the heated seats. She also likes the ride/creature comforts much better in our 12 Rubi than she did with our 09 "sport".

lol no. I would be using my jeep as a DD but I would love to take it off road here and there when I can. When I do take it off road then I may have to hose somethings down

If they are anything like the seat heaters in the landrovers they would be ok, I left both sunroofs open on accident and filled it with water seats only shocked me for a few months.....
