Heater/AC Blower Fan Delay

When I turn on the blower for the AC or heater in my 2011 Wrangler there is a several second delay before the fan actually comes on. Is this a "feature" or is this something I should have looked at?

Subscribed. Mine does this for up to 30 seconds along with a flashing light for the rear defrost (which I don't even have).

I've seen this come up in a couple threads. One of the more believable reasons was that the system does this to circulate stale or heated air before engaging the fan. Other users have said its a fault in the system which eventually needs replacement.

Either way, I'm out of warranty so I'll deal with dropping the windows until the system kicks on.

Mine has always had the delay where it blows the air at your feet first. However, in the last week it started doing the same thing as yours: 30 second delay and flashing the rear defrost light when I first crank it. I have rear defrost with the hard top, but it hasn't been on in months. Not sure why it would just start doing that.

Everything is basically instant on mine and every other JK I've been in. Seems likely something is in the process of failing.

I have similar issues, however they seem to be sporadic and not consistent. Occasionally on startup, the fan will come on full blast when the dial is only adjusted to low.
