Heater/AC Not Heating/Cooling Enough

So its been awhile since I've used my AC or Heater Due to the weather. Today its about 45 degrees here in Morgantown, and I turned on my heater. I remember when it would heat up so much it would be almost unbearable, well that wasn't the case today. Full blast and it seems as though the driver's left vent isn't heating. Anyone know what could be the deal? Aren't the heaters in these vehicles known for being freaking HOT?
