Just saying its possible. No ball bustin intended.

I finished my years at college about a year ago and I'm not quite ready to dive back into that kind of analysis again.

We've been Vexed

1 a : to bring trouble, distress, or agitation to <the restaurant is vexed by slow service> b : to bring physical distress to <a headache vexed him all morning> c : to irritate or annoy by petty provocations : harass <vexed

747's n 737 have 28vdc systems
Mathematically those 1000AH batts would be toast in no time

Bask in the beauty of the pretty Evergreens in the fricken YUKON!!!!

I'm ending here as not to add to the Vexification of our beloved WF

re: aircraft landing light
I haven't calculated the load, etc....but in the 60s & 70s ran in a variety of rigs, an A pillar spot light equipped with an aircraft landing light....they were 'underground' and illegal as hell for road use, but the then-24v bulb adapted without fuss to 12v duties. .... AND put out way more light than anything else of the era.

And I too am VEXed...ok, early spring unrequited LUST........although I can't decide whether it's the rig, the trailer, the life style, or the lady from down south.....

in any case....I'm looking forward to moreMoreMORE of the entire story. I'd like to see details of the wiring for both the winches and the lights.

So welcome to the forum, Robert Stephens!!! You tell an enchanting and heady tale. Appreciate and applaud your contributions.

Looking forward to see what you can do to bring a JK Rubi up to the specs your world requires.

I'd also like to hear of refueling issues at remote locales, along with any mechanical stories you would share.

Thank you julie, most kind. I am learning a lot so far and really hav to bone up o this stuff, as it is so very different than VEX in many ways. I am loving it. Especially since they have reintroduced the tan color. Wonderful.

Very intriguing and everyone is being so kind in answering all my Newb questions.

There are lots of places that sell the JEEP sticker. The body stamp is long gone, but some people have pulled the stock stickers and out the JEEP sticker in its rightful place.
Ah, cool data, that is the answer I was searching for. Thank you so much. Lea will surely disappear with all these cool Jeeps to pick from.........love it.

Wow, what a wonderful welcome and post and most humbling. I am a very simple, throwback, primitive sort, since I never got the circular here in the states how to drive a really radical golf cart. It's too late for me, anyway........hahahahahaha.

Plus, Indiana Jones don't golf!!!!!!!!!--hahahahahahaa

Yes, I am going to post my own mods for VEX, to then apply same as applicable, to VEX 2, when it is acquired, when and if I choose to step up. I am learning so much and it is intriguing.

Again, thank you for the most kind welcome.

Good eyes. You are correct. If I was going to fake something, with my tools, Mac knowledge, background and art that I have done for various venues, it would be so and I would NEVER use photoshop. It would be done in such fashion so that no one could tell.

There are several different options for aftermarket fender flares. I personally took a dremel to mine and made some flat flares outta them for maximum wheel travel.

Im sure you can get the paint code from mopar and have it made at any local paint shop, it has to be available for body shops to work on wrecked wranglers.
Wow, thank you so much, you answered everything. Perfect. Now I understand those questions, and answered well. Perfect. I can now explore that data now as well.

I have more questions that have cropped up, as I just got back tonight from out at White Sands (NASA), and saw a lot of JKs--some modded up really really cool. Talked to one guy and he reported what everyone has reported as well here. I am really really thinking about this.

Wonderful. Thank you again everyone. I DO appreciate this so much and being patient with a NEWB to the JK world, like me.

Well, what a wonderful welcome and thank you so much. I am a total NEWB to the JK so its thrill to get all the feedback to my simple questions, which are old hat to all of you. I love it and am learning quick. The guy I ran into out White Sands, reminded me of you guys here and spoke the same about his own JK. Love it.

Thank you again, so much. Very very kind post. Humbling as well.

I am enjoying this thread and your stories of travel but IMO, VEX 2 sounds to sterile and impersonal. Like she is coming out of a robot farkle factory.

If you end up buying a Rubicon, maybe you can name her something like VEXicon

BTW, what does VEX stand for? There has to be a story there

My jk got me off the speed kick and turned me into an offroad only guy. Totally changed my outlook on things. It takes me places I never would have dreamed. Of course the places you have been make my adventures seem like a trip to the mall.

By the way, welcome aboard. You will learn a lot around here. We hope to learn from you as well. I bet you could fill 1000 books with the things your eyes have seen.

I know you would love a modified jk but I almost hate to suggest you get one. Mainly because of "VEX". That jeep is so unequivocally mind blowing that I'm afraid the jk will feel like someone tried to replace your dog that just died. Nothing wrong with the new dog. In fact it is better in nearly every way than the dog it replaced but the memories and emotion involved are just too strong. VEX literally oozes adventure. You can't buy what VEX brings to the table. Every scratch and ding is a story that probably sounds like a Spielberg script. I'm glad your keeping it.

As for the jk, you can do whatever you want with the thing. I don't think you have become accustomed to being told things couldn't be done. Everything you want is actually easily attainable with a little money. I would love to see you pull it off and build a jk copy of VEX. Good luck with your build and happy, safe travels.

I would imagine that it stands for vehicular exploration. Look on his 5th or 6th photograph, its clearly printed on the side of his jeep.

VEX: Well, it is from here:

VEX: Ecclesiastes 1-14: "I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem. 13And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered."

VEX, then for me, is a huge hole in my life for which I pour money into and for which I NEVER am satisfied since I think I can always make it better. In this too, I have this delusional vanity about it that it can do anything in the universe. This is of course insane on my part, since if that is remotely true, I would not have 12,000 lb winches on it, front and rear, since this suggest strongly I am always either in a screw up and need them, or I'm a lousy driver, or, it has never occurred to me that, no, Robert, VEX cannot leave the planet or cross the ocean or any other hair brain silliness, so don't try.

Best I can come up with after 20 years with him. Its been a good buddy though.

Thank you for asking. Very cool.

Very very kind welcome, as are all. You've touched on good points and they are real and true. One thing I am doing-thinking, is just that--make a JK into a "vex" or the like. That is the idea, at least. It would be fun if I could, and so all your inputs you are freely sharing is really helpful for my research in this

Thank you so much.

Not trying to hijack the thread here, or bad mouth anything or anyone, but explain this to me. The Jeep on the right is huge enough, but the thing on the left looks like a Hummer, or an old time stretched Toyota Land Cruiser and would never ever make it from here down to Terra Fuego. Too huge. What is the purpose of this? Is it to make something that has the Jeep name on it, not look like a Jeep anymore?

I'm just interested since I do not understand very well. Thank you in advance.

And this, which looks totally like a Hummer: I do not get it? Those wheels and tires must be immense. Please explain this to me and what this is about and why and the size of those tries, if anyone here knows.

Thank you all in advance. Not flaming or being a jerk, I just do not understand. They no longer look like Jeeps, at all.

Ok, ok, I found this and some of the photos are hysterical and the captions. One even says on the windshield in reference to a Hummer. I do this sort of thing in VEX, but do not understand making them so huge. It limits everything you can do with them. I've had to pull Hummers out doing this sort of thing, and I know..

Who has JK-Forum's coolest, most Bad-A$$ Jeep!?

Any input is most welcome.

^ Patiently waiting for you to fill out your profile with pics. For some reason all of your pics to this point are the old "red X".

I want to see VEX!

It means that your pictures are not opening for him. Since I can see them and I'm assuming that most here can see them, the issue has to be on his end.

The 4 door Unlimited or JKU is certainly a different animal, but it is clearly a Jeep in every sense. It has opened up a whole new world for many people that would never have gotten into a 2 door because of the lack of space. It's certainly not going to be able to go places Vex can go because of it's size, however keep in mind that the JK is much wider than Vex to begin with.

Thank you. I have more data from being out at the Dealer yesterday and more today, with pics of comparison and comments on how and what I would do to one. Be watching as they will illicit many questions and inputs from you good folks who are so kind to help a NEWB like me with the JK mark.

Thank you,
