Hello, new (old) Jeep owner here...

Just today, drove my new (to me) Wrangler X home, and found this forum and immediately registered...already learned volumes of info (thank you) the premier one being about a "TSB" for wind noise, 2007-2009 JK.
I was thinking on the test drive and again on the way home that the wind noise from the header was excessive....now I know it is!
I will be calling the service dept. in the morning to address this.
Meanwhile, this is a great forum and I anticipate spending lots of wee hours here. Although I have not owned a Jeep in many years...my first vehicle, at 16 years old was a 1965 Wagoneer 3 speed on the column that had such a pop back through the carb, the dang thing felt like it was coughing! Dealer never fixed it either...lol Other than that, it was a great vehicle for a first car..
My how times have changed!
Well, wish me luck with my TSB and I'll catch ya on the flip flop...;o)

Just an update for anyone interested...I had made an appt. for my 07 Wrangler with regards to Tech Service Bulletin 23-010-09 Rev A (wind noise). So I drove it there today and they looked at it and determined that indeed it needs this upgrade performed! They had to order the new part which will be in early next week...I'm psyched! A quieter ride for my new toy!

Darn..I just wrote a long winded reply to you and I wasn't logged in and it got lost...

I will be hunting for a used hard top for next winter. The soft top is fine and may well suffice if I don't find the right used hard top...They are about $2400 with the wiring harness, new. Don't have much on the Jeep except some new floor liners and the entry protectors for the door sills. I am loving every minute of driving it...It has the auto trans and it shifts smoothly and quietly. Heater is great and my Wrangler came with the "S" package (not sure exactly what comes with this pkg but it has AC, Cruise, compass/outside temperature display, MPG readout, and estimated miles before "empty" readout). It's well appointed and I think the interior is quite handsome. It also has the am/fm/cd/mp3 radio and speaker soundbar. Rear seat entry looks impossible for anyone over 40...lol
I'll probably take out the rear seat in favor of more cargo space.

You only live once...go for it!

In my 50s and solved that problem by getting the four door. With the seats in, it has adequate cargo room. With the seats out it has LOTS of cargo room. It is a great get outdoors type of ride in many ways. It goes camping, with covered utility trailer and lots of camping gear or gets me to the trail head end even if it is off the beaten path. Kayaks on top or Kayaks in back on a trailer, it gets that job done nicely. SCUBA diving gear in the back or in the trailer...either way it is all over that job. I have been totally in love with the thing since November of 07. I'm happy I chose the four door.

I hear ya, but for my first "new" Jeep I wanted the versatility and compactness of the 2 door...just my preference (for now)
I was originally, looking for an 06 and under but when I drove the 07 my mind was made up. Eventually, I may put a plow on it for my driveway route (when it's a little older and the new-ness wears off)
I will, however take the back seat out ASAP in favor of the cargo space...
