Help! 2009 Soft top PIA to raise...

So, I love my jeep but sometimes I cannot get the soft top to latch! It makes me crazy! I do it by myself and about half the time I can do it. However, the other half I'm struggling like heck to get the top to be close enough to latch. I think I may not have it lined up properly??? One time it took me about 30 minutes to get the stupid thing to cooperate. Also, it's not the temperature as it has been sunny & warm on the days I've struggled...ANY tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

2 door or 4 door?

I stand on the back bumper and throw it over. 1 out of 3 times it catches the latches on the door surrounds. Should grab the front latches easily

I put mine up in like 5 min everytime. It can go up crooked but you should be able to wiggle into place. Pull the black latch handle all the way back, so the silver latch can reach out as far as it can then hook it on the footman loop and close the handle. It'll pull it into place.

2 door. Thank you for the tips! I take the top down so often I feel like I should be an expert at this point! But, not so much!
