Help!!!

I was putting the driver's door back on the other day and tightening the nut. It broke off the bottom part of the bottom hinge. Don't really want to buy a new door...any suggestions? I bought the JK 2-door new a year ago this past May.

Can it be welded back?

That's why I keep the nuts off. Too much work and just another thing to break

Is it just the nut that broke? Is the door stem broken that goes in the hinge broken?

It sounds like he broke the threaded part of the post thats slides into the open hinge on the body. If anything it can be welded back. But if you just broke the threaded part on the door will be fine. Dont worry about putting those bolts on every night. Just un needed worry to me atleast.

Yeah, I keep the nuts off mine as well. My first TJ didn't even have any when I got it. But I wasn't sure if the JK's are made different and HAD to have them...

IndyJeepman is right the treaded part broke off and is stuck inside the nut. Sounds like alot of you leave them...wasn't sure if that was ok. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!

Argh! Ye be thinking like jeepsters with the whole "how can I fix 'er"

Just fer grins, think like a "normal" land-lubber...and let the warranty do it's job.

You did say it's only a year old, right?
