HELP..7031 pro comps/ duratracs availablity??

Hi guys. I called EVERYWHERE looking for a set of procomp 7031s with no luck. Does anybody know where I can find them? Some places even told me the 315/70/17 duratracs were also unavailable? ? Ugh I'm so frustrated..I'm dead set on that combo. If I can't get the procomps I was thinking of using my stock rims w spacers. Has anybody tried plastidip on there rims? I was thinking doing my stock rims black.

The Pro Comps are on backorder pretty much all the time. The ones I wanted last October were discontinued. And I had to wait 2 months for my 315/75R16 DuraTracs.

But it was worth it.

Or you could fold like a cheap lawn chair and settle for lesser stuff.

haha...sorry.

One thing, though. If you plan on getting the DT's regardless of current availability, get your order in soon. It really doesn't matter where (though you'll likely get the best deal through DTD...$50 off for being on WF, and $100 mail-in rebate for joining Tread Lightly...see Vendor section). Vendors will fill orders in the order they've been received.

As for the Procomps: I had a style all picked out, and was told by several vendors that they were on backorder. Then, one of em told me they'd been discontinued. So I chose another style of Procomps, and those were on backorder, too.

At that point, I went with a whole different brand of wheel.

Most likely it's just one or two sizes on backorder. While I was waiting on my 35/16's, peeps all over this forum were happily installing their 33's.

Lauging at me, too, I'll bet.

Worth a try, though.

Ordered my (5) 315/70/17 Duratracs from the local Goodyear dealer (Matthews Tire) last Thursday. They came in today (Monday). Best deal I could find....$1,750. This includes mounting, valve stems, life time balancing, warranty and 5-1/2% state sales tax. I could have bought cheaper on-line, but the shipping was too expensive and I would have had to pay for mounting and balancing. I'll do my own rotating because I will run the stock tire/wheel combination in winter.

Sweet! Good to know! Sounds like they are available! Whoo-hoo! Now for the rims. I was thinking about the plastidip idea. What are your guys thoughts on wheel spacers though?

It's much better to buy rims with the proper backspacing (4.5" or less), but if you wanna run spacers, get em from these guys. You want the 1.25" spacers.

Ok thanks! I always thought it was better to run rims with the proper backspacing as opposed to the spacers. I may try to find my #2 choice in rim which is the kmc addicts.

With the luck that i have though they too will be out of stock. I kinda like the black aev pintlers too but not at $210 a wheel. Is 4.5" -12mm offset the ideal size? I see alot of people running this setup. When i was calling around i got alot of 4.75 and 5.00 backspacing options. Will these work or should I stay at the magic 4.5" mark?

4.5" is just a starting point. If you get 4.7", it's not gonna kill you, though with some lifts that might be pretty close to the new sway bar end links. Any # lower than 4.5" is fine, too. The lower the #, the farther your Jeep's wheels will stick out. You don't wanna go too low, however, since that puts more stress on your bearings.

Here's a thread that explains tire size and backspacing very well. It deals mainly with people wanting bigger tires on Jeeps with no lift, but there's still quite a bit of good info in it.

Largest tire on stock JK? Here's your answer!
