I prefer the JCR, but only if you go with the hoop version. I also prefer the Dagger series to the Crusader, but I'm assuming you are wanting a recessed winch mount.

Here is the Crusader stubby with hoop.

Exactly.

Dagger series is very nice looking....but I'm set on having a recessed mount.

I like the JCR Crusader. I'd get one with the short stinger.

Would prefer the short stinger over the tall one, but the short one doesn't come with the gussets. May see if they can just make that for me when the time comes. Also really like the mid width with prerunner setup. JCR is really turning out some great looking JK items right now.

If I was in the market for a stubby, I'd get the JCR dagger with the short stinger, mount some lights on it. I'll take a one-piece bumper over a modular setup, any day. Where I live, road salt would eat a modular bumper up PDQ.

Out of the two I would go with the JCR Crusader. But my first choice would be the R-SE shorty bumper.

Not as far as I'm concerned. The RR is very popular, and holds up well. Had it on my short list of bumpers before I bought my Rampage. But up here in WI, there's salt on the roads all winter long, and it gets into everything. I was concerned it would get into all the cracks and crevices of the RR XHD and wreak havoc, so I went with the one piece...

What I like about the RR is the versatility of it. If you decide later to change the look all you have to do is buy a end cap or another hoop option. I really like mine and even hit a deer at 40mph with no damage to my jeep.

I did add a 12,000 hook for easy tow strap connection

These bumpers are created by professional fabricators therefore the welds, overall fit, and attention to detail are second to none. Because of this, we stand behind our product with a lifetime guarantee; you break it, we will replace it! Our goal is to provide first class service for a first class product and that is what you receive when you shop with JcrOffroad.

Might be something to take into consideration.

That is true. Personally, I loathe that bumper in any other configuration than the one you are currently running. So the modular capabilities mean nothing to me.

There are so many... I had a horrible time choosing. I went with RR.. I love it, my over rider isn't on yet but still looks cool.. Install was a snap. Quality seamed nice, EVERY THING lined up properly. I would buy it again!!

There is one on eBay for 300ish with end caps, if your interested.. I got mine off Amazon with free shipping.

Hey,

Until I saw the OP pic of the RR XHD, I was NOT a fan of stubby bumpers. I've got to say that the RR XHD looks very nice with the end caps.

Enjoy.

RR is more stylish -that explains the wife's call- and the JCR is more sturdy, the end caps are welded on. Doubt I'll be butting boulders, so I think I'd be fine with either, personally. That said, I would probably pick the RR, just for the sex appeal.
