Help me please!

Will 315 75 R16 tires mounted on a 16x8 inch rims (4.25" back spacing) fit on my 2007 wrangler with a 2.5 inch lift and 1.5 inch spacers without rubbing or causing other problems? The tire/wheel shop is giving me alot of flack!!!!

You dont even need the spacers with that lift and those wheels.

Daggo66, they keep saying that 16 rims are gonna hit the calipers and the tire sidewall is gonna hit/rub the sway bar and/or frame. I spent alot of time on here researching before I decided to make the 1,700 purchase. Thought I had it all figured out. Then I went to order, and the "professional" freaked me out.

ncossey, Thanks, that's good to know. I already have the spacers, they were given to me (free is for me). Would it hurt to slap em on anyways??

Thank you both for your replies. Always nice to hear from people who know what they're doing. Looks like time to place my order with a DIFFERENT shop.

It will most certainly not hit the calipers I can assure u that. The steelies(which I currently have) are 16 inches. There isn't tons of room on the edge behind the caliper but it'll fit just fine. It u add any kind of backspacing whether it be spacers or new rims you are gonna add wear and tear to things like bearings. That's not a huge deal tho especially on a jeep. They aren't that expensive to replace and of you have enough for tires and rims it shouldn't be a problem

16's should fit fine. They come stock with 16's for crying out loud.... Tire shop guys don't always know what will fit every single application.... Who can blame them, there are a lot of different vehicles out there.. And the bs on those should be fine too...

jkjeeper06, Thanks for the info. It's good to know I wasn't crazy! Maybe I'll rethink the spacers, I just thought the wider stance would be cool.

InfernoGirl, Thanks! THat's what I thought, stock X's have 16s. That's why I didn't get why they thought I had two heads when I said I wanted to go to 16s from my 18s.

I would stay away from the spacers, its just an added maintenance point that is not needed with 4.5bs wheels. Oh and that shop must be full of fresh meat cause most stock heeps come with 16 inch wheels lol.
