Unhappy Help! My baby is randomly shutting off!

Hey y'all...I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what the issue with my 2004 Unlimited is ... AND if it's something I can have my son and/or father-in-law fix or take it to a pro:

About a month or so ago, the malfunction light came on, and I did all my regular servicing - oil change, transmission fluid change, etc... and it was still there. Now all of a sudden, if I take my foot off the gas when coasting into a parking space, waiting for a stoplight, etc., the engine just shuts off!

It will turn on and run no problem once I put it in park and restart it, but it's a little worrisome

The other issue is that it jerks a few times when gassing it to go up a steep incline (I live and work in NEPA Mountain Areas) but once it kicks in, it's fine.

A few people have speculated that it's the fuel pump, but I figured - who better than my fellow Jeep People to provide a little insight?

Thanks in advance for your help - I bought my baby because I plan on driving it 'till I die, so I want to address any issues the right way!
