Help please - No RED tab - how to disconnect 2013 door wiring

Hi all-

Every video & chart that I can find is about sliding the red tab to unhook wires for door removal - no help for my 2013 JKU w/I tab - any advice on what to try ?
(Note the red tabs in the picture are paper thin & just bend when flicked)

Sadly it is correct - definitely different - there was a post a couple years ago & a couple others described same thing (no pic) but in that thread it finally just came apart (which isn't super helpful as I'm apparently not that lucky!). I even double checked to make sure I didn't miss a disconnect at the door or something odd - but nope - this is definitely it.

I had a similar problem with my headlight harness. Looks like, from the pic, you push down on the extended black tab on the right and then pull apart. No?

The tab on the right. It's looking at us in the pic. You push down and pull. And I had to pull hard but you won't break it. On the right of the pic where the purple and orange wires enter (in the pic). Mine are much easier to remove than my friends 12...hers looks like the one you describe...mine ('14) looks exactly like the one in your picture.

Slide it up towards the wires to unlock. Then press the tab and disconnect the harness. It's not supposed to be pulled out.

The release tab is at the bottom of the harness-looks like an upside down U in the pic.

Great description - thanks! Apparently I am in the right place - I've been digging that tab in (even used key to depress) & pulling down hard until my fingers are raw - I hate to admit it but I may just lack the hand strength to do it (hard to get leverage under there).

I'll keep trying - thanks all!

It's a weird sensation. Push button and pull hard...you won't break it. It was weird for me cause it's down but forward. You don't need any hand strength just put your arms into it.

Make sure you're not holding on to the female side. What will slide out is the male side

Down & forward - that might help - I was pulling straight down - (doesn't help that my shoulder is tweaked this week either) - handful of Advil & I'll re-attempt!!! Appreciate the tip!

Don't grad the whole thing. Just push in that tab and pull the little section below the first ridge. It will slide right out. Once I did it I realized it was much easier than the old red tab slide version.

OP picture is sideway but yes the tab in the middle. Mine has been easy to undo since day one of taking off the doors.

Went back to it last night with key to push in the tab & rubber grip gloves - pulled whole unit off so I could get a better angle & pulled hard - like sword from stone hard - and FINALLY got it apart - thanks all!!!Attachment 1229970
