Help spend my money

Hi everyone, I'm somewhat new to the forum,

I ordered my first jeep about a month ago and yesterday it finally went to shipment status on VOTS! I ordered a sahara unlimited in granite crystal fully loaded with painted hardtop and 3.73 gears. The mods I have planned so far are a rancho 3 inch trail lift with 9000 shocks and rims and tires.

I plan to run duratracs in 315/70/17 but I am undecided on rims. I think I have it narrowed down between " fuel octane" and "bmf novakane" in death metal. I probably won't be doing much off-roading and I like the look of having everything else blacked out but the paint on the body. I'm tryin to get an idea of what each of these rims would look like with granite crystal. Anybody have either of these?

I like the look of the bmf but it's a high gloss with machined metal. Would that be too flashy with the granite? If you guys could send your pics or opinions I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks in advance

Have you checked out the Granite Crystal Mod Club in the JK Pics forum? There are some BEAUTIFUL rig pictures there! They'll help you get set up right!

Thank you! Those rims look a lot my XD Crank wheels so I think you'll be happy with that set up. I didn't want any machined rivets or anything like that on my wheels either.

Yea I like the all black look. But the machined accents might look good with granite too. I still cant find any pictures online! Tough decision here

I've always liked the Fuel Octane wheels. Make sure you post some pics if you go with these. I think they'd look awesome with the Granite Crystal Metallic.

I ended up ordering fuel revolvers with 35x12.5r17 Mickey Thompson mtz. Going to pick up my jeep today but the rims are on back order for a few weeks. Now I'm questioning my decision and wondering if I should switch the order to the fuel kranks or octanes there are so many choices it's making my head spin

With a 3 inch lift, I would go with 35s instead of 33s. Nothing wrong with 33s, but they will look small with a 3 inch lift.

You are right, it can snowball on you. When I put my 2.5 inch lift on, it made my 32s look so small that I went out and got 35s. That said, my 3.73 gears were annoying enough with 32s, so I got 4.56 gears. The $$$ kind of add up.

Yeh I haven't even looked into the price of regearing. Im scared lol. I can get tires cheap enough that when the time comes to regear I can upgrade. I have sooo much on my wish list right now its kinda sick lol

I don't know what it would be in Canada, but in Texas regearing is about $1600 US. Of course, if you add lockers while you are at it, the cost jumps a bit. I just hope my wife never adds up all the receipts!!

I figured it'd be around that. Low on my priority list just want my rims and tires and eventually a small lift. Regearing will be last

Here is a pic of my Silver Billet with BMF Novakane. I know it's not the same color you are looking for but to give you an idea. Good luck with your choice. Either wheel you choose will look good.

Your jeep looks bad ass! Those rims look great with billet. I was considering the bmf's but think they might have too much machining in them and I want to go with more of an all black look. Could u post or pm some more pictures of those rims if it's not too much trouble???? Thanks!

Thank you. My Novakane's are called Death Metal but if you don't like the machined look, they have the Novakane Stealth.
