Help - tire pics!!!

OK just pulled the plug on a set of 5 Nitto Terra Grapplers LT285 70 17 tires.... going to have them mounted and balanced at 7AM in the morning - so this is the last chance I have to bail on them - got a good deal I believe all 5 mounted, balanced, etc under $1K.....

I have after market wheels already that are a -10MM Offset - will these rub anywhere? I do NOT have any lift or leveling kit yet....

Here is a Pic Before: (I will put one up after in the morning)

Tire/Wheel Combination Calculator

I used this link for my 10 Rubi 2 dr. My stock tires and rims were 255/75/17 with a 7.5 inch rim and 45mm offset. Then I measured inside the wheel wells with fronts going lock to lock. Good luck I just ordered my tires today, but I'm going with michelin A/T's.

Down under we get the 245/75 17in alloys with 45mm offset as base model stock (255/75 17 came on a few 2009 models too), and the 285/70s fit with a small amount of rubbing on the swaybar when flexing, so with a 10mm offset you should have no problems at all.

When you think about it, the tyre is 20mm wider each way (40mm total) and you have 35mm more offset so you will have 15mm more clearance than a stock tyre setup.

10mm offset should be fine even without knowing the wheel width. I was looking at the grapplers myself but there is such a wide varying review on them. Some have no problems while many claim they lose/break off tread lugs easily but that price is hard to beat. My Goodyear MT/R w/Kevlar LT285/70/17 were $1.3K w/tax and mounting for 5 but if I had found the grapplers at your price I may have went that way

I've heard good things about the Terra Grapplers, good choice. I went with the Trail Grapplers however, heres a pic of them.

I'm on my second set of Grapplers and love them. I have 285's on 18 with no lift and full steering articulation there is no rubbing. Not a fan of 18's though and will be selling them.

Sorry guys I did get them mounted then had to head to California for the past 7 days for work. I will get a picture tomorrow and post it up.

So far so good - they look awesome - went with the LT285 75 17 Terra Grapplers and I have no rubbing at all. I have burned thru one tank of gas and at first report I am getting about 16 MPG vs. 17.5 with the stock tires - so not too bad at all.

I have checked the speedo with my GPS and it is only about 1MPH off at all speeds - I have not had the computer changed or anything yet. I am wondering if I need too? Sift points seem fine, Speedo is pretty accurate? is there any other reason to have it changed to match the tire size? It is an auto with 3.73....

I will post a pic tomorrow ...

Man I ran these tires and let me tell you they absolutely suck big ones! I hated them! They did nothing for me off-road. When roads were wet or dry they did great. Snow they kinda did alright. But offroad they sucked.

Sent from my thread killing droid!
