Your manual is right. You need six. 2 each for the front doors, and one each for the rear doors.

Any chance you have a soft top from another year? The door surrounds (which are what I assume you're referring to) for my 2010 unlimited require only four knobs.

Thanks for the info I have a 2007 4 door my manual says 6 door frame knobs but it looks like between the 4 pieces of door frame I have only has 4 places. There is also; tell me if this is what you have, to attace the front and rear door frame it looks like I use the hex bolt that secured the hard top Is this what you have on 2010. Thanks so much for your help

I don't have a hard top, so I can't comment there.

I'm having a little trouble understanding what you're asking. If you post pictures, it would probably help.

I believe you're referring to your "door surrounds," which are those four black plastic pieces that attach to your roll bars above your doors. The front two pieces are straight, and the rear two pieces are "L shaped". Is this correct?

Assuming so, the four pieces on my 2010 attach with only four knobs. One knob goes through each of the front pieces up by the windshield and screws into the roll bar, and another knob goes through both the front and rear pieces where they overlay on top of each other near the seam between the front and rear doors.

Does this answer your question?
