Just sayin' hi!

We picked up a 2008 Red Unlimited Sahara yesterday, and I've already started the downward spiral in jeep madness by installing a set of Duratrac 33's on her - the tires that were on previously had about 1/16" of tread left.

She's got 166k on her and we snagged a 250k warranty (I didn't know they would warranty out that far!). Covers pretty much everything including tire/rim damage and windshield cracks. I'm so geeked to have a Jeep again!

We had a 1999 TJ about 10 years ago, but sold it for the dreaded minivan.. LOL! But I was due for a new car and I had to have my jeep fix!

Only pic I have at the moment is when we went to see it on the lot this last Sunday.. my son wanted his picture taken with it - this is the first new/used car the kids have seen us buy and they were so excited... we had to take them for a long drive last night!

You can expect lots of pics once I get a chance to snap some!

Didnt come with a soft top, so I'm planning on a Trektop NX in a month or so.

Thanks guys!

I told my wife that we would be doing some "doors off" running this summer and she was all  "What about the kids!!"

I told her we would make sure they understand the rules, but she may be right.. What age did you guys first go doors off with your kiddos?

Welcome! As you probably know, these things are an addiction and there are nothing but enablers on this forum.
Yeah - I definitely know... This is our third jeep.

We started with a '79 CJ7 when we got married in '97. That was my first experience with a "project" vehicle. Well, after three (four?) years I decided that a frame up restore wasn't something I was going to be able to afford.. I ran out of cash... It was fun though.

Then we got the '99TJ Sahara. That was her car for about 4 years until we decided we needed more room for our two dogs - so we got a 99Grand Cherokee.

That GC was the WORST investment we ever made... I think I had a lemon - I replaced around $7k in parts in 2 years... trans, heater core, radiotor, complete brakes system, yadda, yaddda... traded that in (more like gave away) on a Grand Caravan and that was it for jeeps for a while.

This time around, I'm taking it easy and going after the easy mods. Paint / cosmetics.. DIY stuff (been reading up on the speaker mods).. The only money I plan to spend on new parts will be the soft top and a full width bumper with brush guard... well and probably some lights... floormats.. grab handles.. new stereo head unit...

Yeah - Its hopeless...!!

Thanks for the welcome!
