Hi lift secured on the inside?

Just won a new 44 inch hi lift for 60 bucks last week. Not sure I'll ever use it, lol. But it's better than the stock mopar twister. Are there any decent mounting options for the inside of a JKU ? I kinda like the look of the exterior mounts, but I'm honest with myself - I know it won't be used on the trails so I don't need it on the hood or the rear swing out to advertise it to be stolen or how hard core I am with my offroading. Lol. But want it safe. Right now it's just lying there in my trunk area. Do many of you have one mounted inside of the Jeep?

What do you see yourself using it for? If I understand you correctly... you are saying you won't be using it off road? Much better choices for changing tires if that's what you're thinking... the mopar scissor jack for one... or a bottle jack.

Nice prize! You could sell it here or put it up on Craigs or some other site if you really don't think you'd use it.

Hi Lifts can be used for more than one thing, an example I saw was used for pulling fence posts!

Quadratec sells one that attaches to the rear of the "Sport Cage". Versions for 92-12.

I have yet to use my hilift on the trails but i did use it to swap my coil springs on my TJ.

I dont know if you want to mount it outside the Jeep but mine fit perfectly under the 2nd row seat.

My apologies, I meant by my original post was that most of the jeeps I see that have these mounted outside are of the rock crawling always off road looking jeeps, and I definitely don't have one that fits that mold. This thing is huge, I just worry about leaving it mounted on my exterior. I got it for a steal, even if I don't get to use it. I can use this to do lots of things, besides changing tires! Plus, I don't have a winch so in a pinch, this might help.

Does it interfere with the soft top lowering where you have it mounted inside? I can't tell from that pic.

I have a Tuffy Security box so I drill holes and use bolts to mount it behind the read seat on top of the box. I also used a pair of rubber chalks and drilled threw them to put between the jack and the box. I don't have a pick handily but it does not interfere with the soft top.

I test fitted my Hi Lift on the front bumper and it tucks in there like it was made for it. I will get a bracket to hold it in place though. I was also concerned when someone mentioned the steering gizmos were mounted in there but no sweat, they are free and clear of any drilling necessary. If I mount it crossways inside it will piss off my Golden Retriver...thats her space.

I use a HiLift "Jackguard" and haveit strapped in my cargo area

The "Jackguard" keeps it quiet/clean and it'll keep mud in the case, you can carry the HiLift-conveniently--anywhere-

Can'tbeatem

I have a river Raider mount too. I will tell you that it is impractical to keep it back there for anything other than wheelin'. I disconnect mine from the base and either leave it in the garage or under the back seat for daily driving. I do use the RR mount because it's more secure when I'm actually on the trails.

The soft top is a pain in the ass to fold down, since it will sit on top of the hi-lift. It's also in the way if you are loading/unloading any type of cargo. But I do like the fact that it is inside and out of the elements.
