Hidden Hitch Front Reciever

Gents - Anyone heard anything about or used this (or any) front hitch receiver on their JK?

I'm mostly looking to add it so I can use a warn M8000 on the front and rear using the warn receiver winch cradle. The specs say it can handle a 9000lb line pull, so no concern there.

I am slightly worried about both how it looks and how it might affect approach angle....Any opinions or insight welcome. NOT looking to replace my front bumper.

I have a front hitch on my new Rubicon. I think that it is a Hidden Hitch under my stock bumper. They put it on at the dealership and it looks like it came that way from the factory. I will double check when I get home Friday.

And I ideally would replicate your setup but don't have the funding for a complete bumper setup and all the Warn goodies, but what pull weight it your hitch winch? Would you ideally have more (if yours isn't enough at current)?

Much appreciated, if you could post a pic I'd appreciate it!

Awesome, guess I don't need to worry about approach angle issues...Looks like it's not much of an impact...do you try a winch with it at all?

That Oly bumper is also "light" duty, even thouigh its all steel and bolted with eight bolts-

It wouldn't support near the weight that the "under bumper" frame hitchs would, it would certainly support the weight of the jeep over rocks/logs/alien space craft---but I doubt if it'd handle a "deep mud" stick !!

Steep hills, alone put no flex onit, but like I said---light duty

Good luck

Haven`t tried a winch. I mainly use a "T" bar to haul me kayak.

Yeah I'm getting "deep mud" stuck in these North FL swamps, so that's why I like the front and rear option of a winch, because sometimes I don't want to keep going further into it (see jeep underwater)....

You think a warn M8000 on a cradle would be plenty to pull my 2 dr Rubi out of some sticky mud? I figure that's approaching 2x the weight of the vehicle, but you also loose pull as you extend the line, so I don't have the experience to really know

Thanks for the photo. Great shot.

What tool(s) can you suggest for cutting the air dam?

I purchased and installed the Curt front reciever hitch in my 2012 Rubicon. It is really well made and looks great but was terribly difficult to install. I use it to park my boat trailer and other trailers in their stalls and also with the Curt carrier basket.
