Hill Holder Sticking

IS anyone else having trouble with their hill holder not wanting to let go of the brakes? I have a 6spd with 4 wheel disks and on a slope, the hill holder workds great! However, when I release the clutch and apply RPM's the brake is not releasing! If I push the clutch back to the floor it releases. This is very strange not to mention ineffective! I drove a Subaru stick for years and it worked great.

Try giving it a little more gas and release the clutch quicker. That should do it. You can't go too easy with it unlike the Subaru. I don't think it's releasing when you push the clutch back to the floor. It releases anyway after a couple of seconds.

The more you try to "use" it, i.e. delay your throttle and let it hold, the more it tries to hold. Just start as if it didn't exist and it will do it's job perfectly and you will start out with zero rollback.

Have notice it acts up sometimes. It sure seems to hold on level ground once in a while, not my favorite feature on the jeep, for sure. First manual tranny I have owned with this feature, AND I DON'T LIKE IT!

Hill Start Assist (HSA) started with the 2009 models.

It can be disabled - look in your owners manual - I immediately removed the feature, took literally 15 seconds. Enjoy!

Read the manual, there's always a catch isn't there. Will have to check that out, and thanks!
