Hit A Deer

A week after getting my 2012 JKU Arctic, a deer ran into the side of it. It cracked the fender flare (see pics). I have had no luck looking online for a replacement and would appreciate any help or suggestions/advice for finding one and how to match my paint (Arctic Chill). Thanks! And Quick responses are much appreciated!!

You can order bushwacker painted flares. They are a bit pricy but come painted. I think they are like $1000 for all 4. Other option find a used and have it sprayed

File an insurance claim, let them worry about it. If you wanted OEM fenders I've got a set practically brand new, plastic though. Rr hurricanes are going on in their place.

Cheapest way is to find a fender locally that is a plain black fender, take it to a body shop, have them buff it and paint it to match, then install it.If you are VERY lucky you might find someone with an Arctic that took their fenders off and still have them and you can buy one from them.

You hit a deer and that's the only damage you have?? Consider yourself very lucky, my friend. I hit an 8-pointer head on and his rack came right through the windshield at me. Fortunately, the only casualty was the deer.

Glad that is the only damage and no one was hurt. Others have posted what to do. I'm kinda jealous in a morbid way. I hope something takes out all the plastic on the front of my jeep. But just so I can remodel with better items.

Sketched out on the buck through the glass though!^^^^

thanks for the responses everyone, i found a local body shop that will replace it with a factory one, painted and all for $700. Now it seems pricey because i can replace all 4 for $1000? whats the best thing to do here? I think my mom wants to keep it as original as possible but it might be worth it to upgrade the fenders? And the deer ran into the side of me and mostly hit the tire (Thank God) and a little of the fender. Thanks!

Is it your Jeep or your Mom's? If it is yours go get a set of Metalcloak or Ace metal fenders. If it is your mom's Jepp talk her into it.

It might have broke its neck... It ran into the side of my tire and fender while i was driving about 30mph. After i hit it, i got out to see what had been done to my jeep while the deer was seizing in the road by the time I saw the fender, it was gone off the road so i continued on

Deer are covered under comprehensive insurance... Act of god, insurance rates shouldn't go up, usually comprehensive has a 50-100 deductible which I'm sure most people carry on their bank loaned jeeps. I would take it to a jeep dealership and have them do it... If it's a newer jeep, less then 3 years, tell them not to fade the paint (paint to fade color match which would include the hood, grill, and fender) as you shouldn't need a fade because the original paint hasn't started to sun fade. My 2013 front fender was vandalized (keyed) and they wanted to bondo the fender and do a "fade to match" paint on the hood and grill, I said no, I want a brand new fender no fade and I want to keep the original... It was 350$ cheaper and I couldn't tell if there was a color difference. It cost me 50$ out of pocket, my deductible.

Good to know about the fade. Im working on a sponsorship with a local off roading shop, and I think I can get him to do it, but Ill make sure and tell him not to fade the paint. Its a 2012 if that matters?

Nice Mom, need a brother?
The metal flares are stronger and look better. Not sure what kind of wheeling you do but they can take a beating. They are on my whish list of MODs.

Dang, if I had seen the deer seizing I would have called in for permission to take it out humanely. At least you would have gotten some meat out of it too.

You should look at your fender options more. You can get a set of Bushwackers for about $500 and install them yourself, it takes about a day if you go slow and they aren't painted - but it replaces all 4 so they match.

Found this deal though - I'd be willing to give them shot at it and then install it myself --- can't beat the price - just under $200 for a stock, painted to match fender, delivered to your door! New Painted to Match Front Right Fender Flare 2007 2013 Jeep Wrangler | eBay
