Hoist for a low ceiling?

The Lang hoist states the minimum ceiling height should be 7ft. My garage is 7'8". It's a deep garage (30ft), so I was thinking I could possibly lift it and drive out from under it without raising the hard top completely off the vehicle. Has anyone done this?

Once you raise the hard top 3-4 inches you can drive out from under it. I have about an 8' ceiling and I made my own hoist and recessed the pulley for the hoist up in the ceiling between the floor joists of the room above. Gets my hard top high enough off the Jeep that I can easily drive out and then turn around and park slightly under the hard top.
