Hood Glare with Roof/Hood Mounted Lights

How does everyone prevent the light from shining onto the hood, but allow it to shine out in front of the Jeep?

This is what I'm wanting to avoid. These show a lot of light on the hood due to poor placement I believe:

First off understand that you have a white truck therefore no matter what, you will get a small amount of light fall off or "light pollution".
The biggest issue is that your optics are way too broad of a pattern for placement. Anything for windshield or roof mount needs to be less than a 25degree true angle. The only way you are going to eliminate any of that on your truck is to mount the bar further back. Tons of people make this mistake either because they try to save money by buying a less expensive light that has no optics or they order the wrong optic for the positioning.

Nature of the beast. It's really not that big of a deal and mine is Silver. U could specific order a spot only pattern, but can't see it making a huge difference. I also run a Rigid at the front, that may be a better option for ya.

I am planning on putting a rigid 20" on the bumper anyway. I just have always liked the lights above the windshield as well. I have to do it right the first time and can't accept light on the hood. I contacted EAD Offroad and asked them about what to do with the Gobi rack and they said the light on the hood is not that bad.

I'm surprised there isn't an option for a lip on the LED bars for this to keep the light from shining straight down.

The light shining straight down is from no / bad optics. Most companies out there do not understand. How to optic (truly) an led.
