It doesn't make a difference to me. But when I see inconsistencies it bugs the crap out of me until I can understand why there is a difference. I like to understand things.
The other thing bugging me is that the dealer said the Trail Kit that comes with the Willy's will be mailed to me in a few weeks. Sounds suspicious as I have test driven other Willy's that had the kit in the back of the Wrangler.
So for a second there I thought someone stole my hood insulation. Because I'm already suspecting the dealer is stealing my trail kit. :-(
The Trail Kit is mailed to the dealer independent of the delivery of the vehicle. So it does not come in the back... only if someone went to the parts department, found it, and put it in the car. I wish it came with the vehicle, as most salesmen forget to give it to most people.

This changed a month or two back. The Trail Kits are now shipping with (inside) the vehicle as they leave the factory.
EDIT: It was further back then I remember.... Jeep started to ship them inside the Wrangler as of Monday, October 5. Still only Willys, Hard Rocks, and those paying extra for one as an option, will find one.
I am glad I have the isolation, when you park with a hot motor the heat on the hood will go way up and then you get bird droppings or what ever and it just cooks on there. I don't know how good the insolation is but any will help. I would think it helps with noise also. Did not have it on my 2004 TJ Sahara but do have it on my 2012 JK Sahara.
Looks great. Glad to see you haven't been deluged by posts about "water infiltration" and how are the children going to get shoes or food IF your engine gets dripped on......OMG chicken little where are you!!!
Can't say as I see much, if any, benefit to an insulated hood. And it probably contributes to higher than desired engine temps. I'm leaving the insulation on there, but I did open up the hood vents on my Power Dome hood to help reduce engine temps.
A little update from me. I received an email from the parts department on Monday just welcoming me to the dealership family. I responded and asked about the trail kit. Within an hour our salesman called to let us know the trail kit is in the mail. Shortly thereafter I got an email from UPS with the tracking number. It should arrive today. Woo Hoo! All is well.
It's a great place to store trail dust. :beerdrinking:
