Hood Mounted Lighting

Anyone have any experience with these?
Rugged Ridge Hood Mount Off Road Lighting Kit

Rugged Ridge 15207.70 - Rugged Ridge Hood Mount Off Road Lighting Kit for 07-11 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

I want a couple extra lights externally but don't want them on the windshield or overhead. These seem like they'd do the job.

BigGreen98: Yes! Something nearly identical to that, except that I don't want to interfere with existing functionality of the vehicle (with that setup the windshield couldn't come down, although if the lights tilted forward and there were taller stops...)
That setup does look as though it puts out a good bit of light. What size/output are the Hella 500s ?

My only concern with the RR lights is that they are 3" and I can't find a spec on how much light they put out.

I mounted my HID Hella 4000's to the stock bumper. They work very well.

Been hunting for this and found it - each of the RR lights is 100W. That may be plenty of light for what I'm expecting.
My only concern with bumper mounted is that I'm looking at replacing my stock bumpers with AEV mil-spec's in the future and don't want to have to wire them twice. Attached to the hood latches (and being only 3" dia) they don't stick out or up too far (hopefully minimizing the temptation for sticky-fingered douchebags from tampering with them), and they will provide a wider area of light (and more of it) when needed. The other ones I thought interesting are made by WARN and are wireless! I'm all about geekiness too, but I'm not sure how the wireless setup might hold up under adverse weather or interfere with other wireless signals (i.e. uconnect)...

Not sure of the stats of the 500 series they are super bright any have a very long range. I had them on my bumper but got a set of factory fogs from my cuz so I put the Hellas on the hood in the hole where the windshield bumpers where and they do fold and I can also remove them at any time with no visible damage
