Horn delay/sound

So i hate the horn on my new rubi, first the delay sucks. it take like 1.5 secs for the horn to blow after i hit the steering wheel, and of course the sound is lame. Is it possible to throw on a horn from a diffrent vehicle, like my old 09 sierra, and just bolt it up? will it lesson the delay or is that a steering wheel issue?

Drives me insane as well, and IMHO, it is a VERY dangerous thing. The delay is almost comical. I am really thinking about wiring a separate switch to a horn that is instant. Some things done by Chrysler are just REALLY stupid.

I've gotten in the habit of pressing off center a bit on the horn. May just be in my head, but it seems to help *slightly* with the delay.

Very dangerous IMO. Would be interested to hear rec's on what can be done to address the delay.

New horn seemed to fix mine. I just got the hi/lo pair at Autozone for $26 and it made a huge difference. Not quiet as loud as the 115db PIAA hi/lo but as good or better then most stock horns none the less. They are 112db. Quiet pleased with the new horns and was cheap and easy to install.

I installed the PIAA 400/500hz horns on my 10 Rubi soon after I got it and they work great. Basically plug and play. Never noticed any type of delay.

so far as the delay issue, it is the horn itlsef right? not the switch in the steering wheel?

Has it really?

The horn is probably my #1 gripe. It sounds like a sick goat. It's embarrassing.

Is changing to an aftermarket horn a fairly easy option?
