How awesome is that DTD Tire certificate?

How worth it is it to buy that? Would you get one for the spare too?

Anyone with experiences?

I have been burned by these alternative insurances before, just wondering. Thanks for the help.

I bought it and I usually don't buy extra warranty stuff. The salesmen told me anything is covered.
Rock tears through the sidewall? NO problem! We'll send you a new one!

Hopefully that's true, we'll see. I think you have to buy it for all the tires, otherwise everyone would just buy it for one. Bad tire,Yep, it was THAT one.

Exactly. I stopped buying that stuff when I got a 1 year from best buy, same deal, I break it, whatever, bring it back. I did, mp3 player stopped working after 3 months, they said still covered by manufacturer for 1 year, so I had to go through them...i took way up to, and did not win. So I am leary of these now.

I'm under impression, if goodyear has a tread or miles warrany pro rate deal, that would supersede these certificates.

I got the certs with mine. It wasn't much more out of pocket. If I don't have to use them, fine. But it is great knowing they are there.

They are a total waste of money when they are concurrent. BB makes a bundle from that.

I think he is speaking of the extended warranties in general being worthless concurrent(I.e. BB=best buy).

I agree the DT warranty is the way to go

I buy them on anything when I buy tires from DiscountTire.
They help, especially if you run some expensive tiers.

I think they could be a little more worth it if you really off road and they cover off road damage. These type of warranties tend to be hard to get covered. Most make you jump through hoops and then not pay. But in general extra warranties are a rip off. There is a lot of information on this. Companies are making a huge fortune off these warranties and all the financial adviser will tell you to stay away from them. One of the biggest legal scams out there right now.
