I think you've picked a safe distance at the bumper. Above that if water starts coming into the crew compartment, when your feet start getting wet, then some of the low lying wiring will start to get wet. The connectors will begin to corrode. Then, eventually, some of the features may become intermittent. While at that depth I would be careful not to create too much of a wave by trucking too fast so as not to get water into the air intake and hydro-lock it.

Take a look at your manual. There is all sorts of good information in there, including how deep you can go in water.

I would suggest raising the breather vents and then you wont have problems going deeper.. I have gone as deep as just below the hood hitch but kept it slow. Even that I did only after raising the vents. So look into that and you ahouldn't have too many problems other than corrosion..

haha ahh yes the infamous lost jeep in lake thread. Thanks guys ill keep all this information in mind. I don't plan on going above the bumpers but i was just curious if i ran the risk of going as deep as i have. Theyre normally really shallow creek beds but we have had tons of rain and flooding lately, but i can see to the bottom of everything i cross, so i wont chadwicked. I plan on a 2" lift, i figure that will let me go a litte deeper if need be.
