If you're referring to the speaker "grill", I don't believe it comes off separately.

Are you wanting to get to the speaker?

Naaa, the whole thing. I want to drill some holes above the speaker and put some switches there.

It is part of the whole dash. If you really want it off you have to take the whole dash out.

As long as you're careful, you could probably make the cut outs for the switches with the dash in place.

Remove the side panel and you'll see there is a decent gap there.

Remove the single bolt/screw down where the door harness plugs in, allowing the panel to swing out some.

Does that side panel just pop out?

Yes, use a plastic trim remover and pry it outwards. It is sort of hinged in there.

Yeah. If you push in on the part near the front, the end nearest the dash will pivot out a little. Slide something in the gap and just give it a pull. It's just held in place by some clips.

If you want to see how to get the best access, look up how to remove jk dash speakers. That should get you what you need.

I just removed the side panel to drill the hole for my KCs. There was nothing behind where I drilled above the speaker.

+1. The side panel just pops out. There's a good 1.5 to 2 inches of space behind the dash above the speaker.
