If this post is somewhere else please direct me and I will delete this one. I am curious what everyone uses to keep their Jeeps clean. From washes to waxes to interior wipe downs. Helpful tips and tricks would be welcome too. Thanks!!

(optional step: spray degreaser on engine and under carriage)
1. 2500PSI Spray down to remove mud & grime
2. Mix soap with pressure washer and use rotating brissell attachment on the pressure washer.
3. Rinse
4. Use OBA to dry Jeep intirely
5. Orbital buffer to polish paint & dull scratches from the trail
6. Tire gel (not spray) to shine up the wheels.
7. Vacuum interior/ Wipe down
8. Windows inside and out (Windex)
9. With a microfiber cloth hit any areas that need touching up
10. Open a cold beer & stare at your masterpiece

Usually this method takes me about 2-4 hours depending how dirty it gets. I wash the Jeep every Sunday... But it always is showroom ready.

As for products: McGuires, Mothers, Black Magic and Turtle. In that order..

I run through the local hand wash carwash weekly.

I exfoliate often, then, mud bath. I hear it's good and all...

In all seriousness, get a good coat of wax on it first and that will protect you from the sandblasting the paint will endure. It will also make it clean easier, and look great!

I am a huge fan of Zaino products. Have been forever and will likely be for a long time to come. It is a little more work to get on, but incredibly tough and looks amazing. Have used it on everything from Jeeps to corvettes and recommend it highly.

I'm a fan of Adam's Polishes. The two bucket system along with their products is my go to choice for keeping my baby clean. Wash, clay bar, seal, wax - two times per year. I wash far more frequently of course. Looks like a million bucks when I'm done.

My answer is i don't :) ive got a 15 JKUR and just put new rims and tires on it and sticking out about 2 inches, needless to say it stays dirty :)

On a funnier note: the wife and i recently went to an outdoors sportsman show and we were walking buy a booth and i was looking at the product in passing, (car cleaner/wax not really sure) but the guy says to me would you like to see a demo of the product, i said no thanks, than the guy says to me don't you like your car nice and shiny >> well i said NO i don't i drive a Jeep :)

Yep. Only had my 2015 JKUR 3 months and it hasn't seen a wash yet. Hasn't seen a trail yet either but the thing sure does like getting dirty. I often wonder if it goes out on its own at night. The entire right side was caked in mud for a week until it rained.

The wrangler seems to look best in its element of mud.

I have recently put together an internal care kit though that I put together from recommendations on this forum. I haven't used the products yet, hopefully this weekend.

I need to look into some of these external recommendations next. Although the wrangler looks much better muddy I should probably still give it a bath on occasion.

Coin op self serve spray and wash, dry it off with a clean towel once every couple weeks.

Free vac at the coin op, for interior and wipe it down with wet towel.

Just did first real car wash with a quick wax service at about the one year mark.

Mines white - chosen on purpose because it still looks decent even if neglected.

I keep mine waxed because I get it very dirty. The wax definitely helps when cleaning it later. I have mine lifted with 35s that stick out from the fenders. It gets dirty easily. I take it off road and on the trails. But I also like it to look good too. I spend more time cleaning it than most people would spend on their vehicles. It looks bad ass when it's all shined up.

My Jeep pretty much stays dirty with Chopped fenders and the 35's sticking out 2" lol...

I keep the undercarriage sprayed down with WD40 and Spray and scrub it off every couple weeks at the car wash. I will do a thorough cleaning/wax every now and then when I'm bored.

Land vehicle Off-roading Vehicle Regularity rally Car

First step, get dirty.
Second step, wash it, dirty water...err clean water.

No really, I have yet to figure out how to get all the mud out from under the Jeep. I hear that placing a sprinkler under it for several hours works, but I haven't tried that yet.

I do this twice a year, I strip the wax off my Jeep/Car by using dawn dish washing liquid, then clay bar to remove all out impurities in the paint. Then wash with cool water in the shade one final time before the real "waxing" starts.

Then use the Zaino products to get a "show room shine". Those products really work great! It does take time to apply their "wax" the first time, but I haven't seen anything that works better.

I live on a dirt road, in a dirt neighborhood, and we still have several feet of melting snow, so my cars, driveway and life are a muddy mess right now. I usually run through one of the easy auto washes (as long as my rack clears) for $4 just to get a the mud off so we don't have to worry about rubbing up against it all day. Once my world dries out, it will get hand washed, waxed and spit shined. Until then, just sprayed off.

My Jeep is always dirty. I have a lot of dirt roads around my house and I go off road a lot. Mostly dust, a bit of mud now and then. When I'm in town, I go to the carwash (not the automatic one), and give it a once over. I detail the interior a couple of times a year and hand wash and wax a few times a year.

The best preventative measure is buying a white Jeep. Always looks clean ;)

Yep! My last car was black, never again. And white doesn't show scratches as much!

I wash mine when it gets dirty. Usually and the self service car wash then hit it with some detail spray when I get home. Back to black on the plastic fenders.

After my upcoming overland trip in a week, I will give it a good wax. I usually wax it in the spring and fall.

I don't let anyone eat in the Jeep...nothing. No chips, no fries, no burgers. All the mucky muck that falls to the floor and gets in the cracks...yuck.

You would be surprised how clean you can keep the interior by just following this rule. I've taken it out to the desert many times, gotten it dirty and muddy, but every time I clean it it still smells new.

You want your interior to age fast? Let people eat in the car.

If food is in the car it stays in the bag until we get home. Of course beverages are allowed.

I use the products recommend in this thread: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f19/how-to-correctly-wash-detail-your-jeep-172221.html

Mystique (JKUR) is just a month old, but she took a couple of road trips and well murdered a lot of bugs and ate bees so she needed some cleaning love. Since I live in an apartment building with a covered parking stall, I don't have the option to wash in the driveway. So I use the self serve/coin wash, I bring a wash mitt and I use the foam brush but I use the foam and not the brush. I use the high pressure rinse then I bring her home to dry thoroughly.

I did find that I did not need the detailer's clay, there weren't really any micro elements on her. I used Duragloss #601 (Polish Bonding Agent) and then Duragloss #105 (Total Performance Polish) and she's particularly shiny and I can just wipe away the dust. I still have to treat my windshield with some Aquapel but that's later on. I did get my own wash mitt and towels. Also WD40 on the black fenders and bumpers works wonders! (another tip from that thread). I really did enjoy cleaning her up and learning about the whole detail process.

Overall some good information in that thread, read it through and you'll get all the details on how to err detail your Jeep! :D

Good old genric car soap and water. Pressure washer for under the fenderwells.

I must admit that the wrangler is the most PITA car ive ever washed. Nooks, Crannies, around the tire, winch bumber etc. Takes longer IMHO that most average vehicles. Oh wait.........there was the suburban.....

Haha true! We used to have an Expedition - traded it in for a minivan. That thing is super easy to clean in comparison to the jeep and expedition.
