Question How do you wash your soft-top Jeep?

This is my third soft-top Jeep but my first new one. The other two were 10+ years old and with their original top so I didn't really respect the soft-top as much as I could have.

With that said, what are some do's and don'ts regarding the care/maintenance for these?

I take mine to a do it yourself carwash .....Dont worry the pressure washer wont hurt anything.

I have also go to the places that send it through the automatic line.....they dont hurt your jeep...although some thing the soft top JK is made of sugar and will melt if its not hand washed.

Pressure wash if muddy, then wash by hand.

the touch less auto wash works, although the top will leak a little around the zipper on the side windows... but its nothing bad

I go out of my way to use the old fashion do it yourself carwash ports. I'm usually pretty careful on direct pressure on the top. My 2012 had the normal Mopar top and my 2013 has the premium. I really don't treat them any differently.

I've also used the touchless automatic carwashes on 2012, and I just don't like the dryer pressure on the top - personal preference.

Now, when the soft-top comes down like mine did this week, the doors also go off. So right before I go sans top/doors. I do one good cleaning, waxing, leather protection, and black plastic protection. In this mode, I usually will only wash if absolutely necessary. Here in the desert its mostly just dust - so I don't have to worry much about mud, etc... But, I may end up giving her 1 hand wash after a particularly dusty outing. Otherwise, no bath until top and doors go back on.

For keeping the Rubi clean here in AZ, I use my leaf blower more than I use the hose.
