How fast is your jeep?

I was just wondering what's the fastest you have gotten your jeep up too?

I've gotten mine around 80 on the interstate.

Where is the "my jeep is the slowest thing on the road" option? Seriously, I drive it like it's a mail truck.

I did get it up to ~85ish in the Nevada desert with no issues at all but I was also the slowest thing on the road.

2013 Rubicon 4:10 ratio, with automatic.
I have had it up to about 85 a couple of times, and was surprised just how well it handled at that high speed. With the 3.6, there was still plenty left if I chose to push the pedal!

I drove 80 to 90mph but it feels not very comfortable on Duratracs. Maybe on some highway type tires I could get faster but not much I think.

I have 09 2DRR with 2.5' 33 manual and I goto it up to 90 just to pass a truck. I was actually scared as I passed by. I normally feel comfortable about 70..which is SUPER slow especially when the speed limits are 75 - 80

85+ but very briefly. My rule of thumb is "stop mashing the gas pedal when the needle in the fuel gauge moves faster than the one in the speedo".

I always abide by the maximum posted speed limit, "if you know what I mean,..wink-wink, nudge-nudge, say no more!"

I have done about 140 once and who cares how fast you have driving your jeep it is no where near the type of vehicle to even go fast in

I live in California 80 is the norm here and if their jk won't do 80 then they have some issues that need to taken care of

I have been rolling 90+ a few times but like someone said above the gas gauge is dropping right before your eyes

Whatever the highest number on the speedo is. I pegged mine on the NYS thruway coming home from Virginia. I was playing leap-frog with an Audi

With 3.21's 6th gear doesn't start rolling well until 75, easily go past 90, I think I hit 90 once. If I was out west with 85mph limits and running A/T tires it would be no problem doing 90 all day long.

No more dangerous than any sports car, you just won't go as fast. Using your head is what driving safely is all about.

Actually my jeep is "faster" now then it was in its stock form. Stock it wouldn't push past 95/98mph and it took forever to get it up that fast. I have not seen how fast it will go like it is now but weighing over 6000lbs and with 37's the 5:38's makes it pick up speed way faster and I have no doubt it would push past 99. I have had it up to 90 a few times passing stuff but it takes 100% concentration with the steering being the way it is and honestly don't see me ever pushing it any further. 80mph is a cakewalk on a good road though.

All that being said there are very few people who I have ever let drive it on the highway, and they all spend their weekends behind the wheel racing off-road. I wont even let my dad get out on the highway with it.

I am waiting on the super swamper z rated mudders. One of the reasons I actually pulled the trigger on a 14 was the ability to hit 80 and have some to spare with 4:10s. I really like the power weight ratio. Folks used to spend big bucks getting 400 hp out of a 360 block in CJs.

Probably 80 or 81. Gas costs too much in Illinois.

Manual, 3.21'S & 32's, I can hit 80mph in 3rd gear and still have over 1000rpm left on the tach...

I do this once in a while to let the engine know it can do it (not too often, but the manual says it helps with break in too), and to merge into freeway traffic ahead of the oncoming pack.

I will be taking possession of my first wrangler within a week, prior to this jeep I've owned nothing but sports cars. I realize everyone is talking about top speed but what I was impressed with in the new wrangler (2 door) was that it's capable of running mid 15 sec 1/4 mile. That's nothing to shake a stick at. In the mid- late 80's that would outrun a lot of the sports cars on the road and only a second off what many 'sports' cars are running today.

I'll never personally test it because I am not a speed demon, but if I can hit 80 in 3rd, I can probably bury the needle in 4th, then 5th? and 6th?

Track day test results please.
