How long after order to get a VIN

I ordered my Crush unlimited 10 days ago, got my von the next day but have yet to get my vin. I've called the dealer a few times and the computers are down, they're behind due to Columbus day, his general sales manager handles the tracking and is out. Is this normal or am I getting the run around?????

Sounds like you're getting the runaround to me. If I were you, I'd just call 1-877-IAM-JEEP (1-877-426-5337) and give them your VON number. They'll be able to tell you your VIN number, as long as there is one--it's what I had to do since my dealer hasn't exactly been all that communicative since I ordered mine.

I think I received my VIN about a week after the VON.

You will get the VIN when the order goes to D status...just before D1......usually doesnt take more than a few days to a week or so but it varries...though it shouldnt take long. As for the tracking guy being gone...i call BS...many if thee salesmen inside should be able to log onto dealer connect and check it out.

Also like someone else above said...You can call the -I AM JEEP number and find out the vin if you have one like I did.

It took nearly 6 weeks to get my VIN - I was in "C" for a very long time. Called the 800 number several time, same with dealer. A sales manager finally raised some heck for me and called his Chrysler rep, which on a Thursday got me the answer "you will go D on Monday."

I am not sure if it was the color or the dealer that caused me to wait in C so long. Dealer allocations definitely play a role, and Crush just started production with only Rubi JKU's and Sport JK's sighted so far.

A lot of people have gotten VINs quickly but I also have seen people who ordered after me take delivery already. So far what I see happening is that my vehicle - a Crush JKU Sahara - is one of the last to be produced in October.

Bottom line, push your dealer for info but don't necessarily think they are lying just because your VIN/D status takes a while...

I ordered my JKR on Sept. 12. The dealer gave me the VIN on Sept. 14. Jeep should be here this week.

Thanks all, got no where with the dealer so I called I am Jeep, only to find out VIN was issued and Jeep went D1 October 11, 5 days after I got my VON. Makes me wonder what the dealer is up to. Oh well, looks like its being built.

What about after the VIN?

Pulled the trigger about 10 days ago on my new Unlimited!

Not sure what stage I am in. The email I got from my dealer just says "D" with no number after it.

I know that there's been some varying length experiences here, but ABOUT how long after I get a VIN and vehicle confirmation can I expect to see the delivery? I'm excited, but the main reason for my scheduling question is so I can try to get my loan check in order.

It is really all over the place, and I think few really know ... Even Chrysler employees and dealers. It is subject to so many supply chain elements... A single part delay can throw it all off.

From what I read 4 weeks from the order is rare but can happen, 6 is a safer bet, and 8+ is the deal if you order right when an option or color is opened. I have read some things to suggest the trend is going longer due to demand right now, though. It is really very tricky given all the variables.

I ordered on 8/30 and finally went D1 Saturday 10/15 but am going to wait to start my loan stuff until next week at least. Hitting D1 gave me a loaded on railcar date, which is 10/28, and a date of arrival to my distribution point (8.5 miles from my house in this case) so I figure 11/03 is my delivery. It can all change with a bad part on my vehicle though. Inspections do fail and cause delays. And trains run into issues and get delayed.

It was a long road to D1 for me, but I ordered 1 full month before they started painting anything orange (Crush). The whole batch got delayed twice and my guess is that caused even more issues since I am seeing that different trim levels occur in batches. It is not a situation where each order is processed in the order received.

Truth is that auto loans can be processed in hours, happens all the time at dealership - so i wouldn't get too anxious. If you are, rest assured you will not get less than a week of notice from D1 to delivery.

So I would wait until you hit D1 at least...
