How many miles have you driven after the fuel light came on?
OK, I can not remember when the last time was I ran out of gas, but I was pretty young and my old boss told me once, it cost just as much to keep your tank on the top half as it does the bottom half. But I do find myself in a hurry and let my fuel level fall pretty low even to the point the low fuel light comes on, then it is panic time. So I was wondering how far some of you have pushed it, hopefully not in the literal since . Maybe I can get a feel for how far I can go once that light is activated. Thanks, Larry

I watch my miles remaining indicator on my JK once the light comes on. It usually turns on when I have 40-45 miles remaining in my tank. Not sure if the other Jeep models have this or not but I like it.

I go by what hte op says , and never let it go below 1/4
I can't count the number of times I've run out of gas. In high school it happened on a weekly basis, me and my friends got real good at coasting.

Okay so only one person answered this and they drove a tj, how many miles to a tank have you guys gotten in a JK. The most I have gotten to was about 200 and I had a quarter tank left, this just seems absurd to me since its a 19 gallon tank and supposed to get between 17 and 21 miles a gallon.

I was wondering how long this would take. I swear Sienfield comes into conversation everyday.
License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote.
I managed to get my 10 Rubi to 315 miles on a tank, I was below E by a good amount but I still have about 1 or 1.5 gallons of gas left, but I usually get at least 60 miles with the light on and sometimes closer to 90 but that might just be because its a new car.
